2008 Family Campout

The 2008 Family Campout is Coming!

Welcome Campers! It's time again for our annual Pack 170 Campout. All family members are invited (and encouraged!) to attend the campout. If you can't stay overnight, come for the afternoon festivities, have dinner, and join us at the campfire!

When: Sat., June 21st - Sun., June 22nd

Where: Hoyt Scout Camp (North Field/Training Center) - 288 Simpaug Turnpike in Redding, CT

Directions: From the corner of MAIN ST and SUGAR ST (Rt. 302):
  1. Proceed onto SUGAR ST/ CT-302. Follow CT-302 for 6.5 mi.
  2. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto GREENWOOD AVE/ CT-302 for 0.5 mi.
  3. Turn LEFT onto CHESTNUT RIDGE RD for 0.0 mi.
  4. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto NASHVILLE RD for 1.5 mi.
  5. NASHVILLE RD dead-ends on CT-53. Go left and proceed on CT-53 for 1.6 mi.
  6. Turn RIGHT onto SIDECUT RD for 0.7 mi.
  7. SIDECUT RD becomes SIMPAUG TURNPIKE proceed on SIMPAUG Turnpike for approximately 0.5 mi. (go through the center of West Redding, but do not cross the railroad tracks)
  8. The Entrance to Hoyt Scout Camp Training Center will be on your left. It is number 288 with just a mailbox. If you get to the next stop sign at Marchant Rd. you've gone too far.
Travel time: 25 - 35 minutes. Map to Hoyt Scout Camp.

Cost: $8 per person or $30 per family (Make checks out to "Pack 170")

How: Print and complete the registration form. Additional permission slips are available if you have already registered but need to print a second one.

Schedule:
  • Saturday
    • 11:00am to 1:00pm - Set up tents, bag lunch
    • 1:00 to 4:00 - Hiking, crafts, field games, tug-a-war, and we're working on something special...
    • 5:00 to 6:00 - Dinner (Hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, baked beans)
    • 6:30 to 8:00 - Pack meeting
    • 8:30 to 9:45 - Campfire, astronomy
  • Sunday
    • 7:30 - 8:45 - Pancake Breakfast
    • 8:45 - 10:00 - Cleanup and depart

Please complete and print the registration form, and return it with your registration fee (checks payable to "Pack 170") to Sally Ingwersen by June 7th. The registration form contains the required permission slip. Additional permission slips are available if you have already registered but need to print a second one.
